| 842720 | 2009-12-24 01:55:00 | Though I’d update my office 95 to 97 on old computer, but reading system requirements my processor not big enough, Im sure Ive seem 97 on same computer as mine. Have Window 98 and Office 95. Inter celeron 366mhz. Syst req say 486 support.microsoft.com office.microsoft.com Any one got 97 on a 366?? Thought Id buy copy of Office 97 (fm Trademe), as 95 won’t read a lot of docs now and tired of using viewer. |

| 842721 | 2009-12-24 02:10:00 | A 486 is much older and slower than your celeron 366 I know it seems confusing but the 486 numbers refer to the processor part number, not frequency as in your celeron. So you should be good to go! |

Like you, I'm kinda stuck in a time warp, and running Win98 on a 500 MHz pentium (predominantly... I have loads more hardware that only rarely gets used). You should find the CD key is a sticker on the CD jewel case, and there is no need to 'activate' it online. You could well consider upgrading your hardware though. You can get a 2nd hand Compaq SFF 1.6MHz+ for $50 or less via Trademe. I've done so myself on more than one occasion. The added bonus is you'll also get those handy USB slot thingies as well! |
