| 1446585 | 2018-02-21 21:33:00 | Last weekend my computer (Win10) would not get past the password screen. It was obvious that the keyboard and mouse (both wireless) were having no effect. I got new ones, with no result. On Monday took it to the assemblers. They tried a USB keyboard the no effect. The USB sockets were all dead. They then put my HDD into an ex lease machine, again to no effect. The problem was solved by downloading a new copy of Win10. Obviously one or more files were corrupt. Has this happened to anyone else? | Brucem (8688) | ||

Has this happened to anyone else? has anyone else had files become corrupted :) I think that may have happened one other time for someone. Did you have software installed for the USB KB/mouse ? If so that may have screwed up after a Winupdate (or Winupdate driver update) Also, disable Win10 fast start. Might have been fast start stopping Win from restarting properly ? |

I'd suggest system restore but windows seems to have a curious habit of disabling it during updates making it less useful than it could be. |
