1446443 2018-02-18 02:05:00 Do any of the gurus on here use a software programme to save their passwords? If so, what do they recommend?

TIA

1446444 2018-02-18 02:53:00 I use RoboForm. Free to use on one machine but there is a sub to pay if you wish to sync across all your devices. CliveM (6007)
1446445 2018-02-18 02:54:00 No I just have 2 passwords
One - mission critical for banks etc. that I change every year
The other for all my other websites, that I don't care if its hacked.
Make it say 12 characters long with one upper case letter and two numbers, that should do most sites.

I am more worried about remembering my log in - eg which of my email addresses is? and which of my user names is it.

1446446 2018-02-18 03:19:00 I use Keepass and I save the encrypted file on drop box so I can access it from any PC or my smartphone.
There is also a compatible android app for the phone.

I used to use Pocket which is an android app but it has not been updated in a while and it doesn't work with drop box any more.

1446447 2018-02-18 03:54:00 I recently changed from mSecure to Enpass which is free and can be configured to store other confidential information as well as passwords. It has a nice simple interface and can sync with other devices. Jayess64 (8703)
1446448 2018-02-18 03:56:00 I would not like to use one, as to me its just one extra level of complication and risk. Digby (677)
1446449 2018-02-18 04:10:00 Thanks for the replies.... Most of them don't matter much.... for my Bank I have an Entrust card so unless they have that they cannot log in anyway. I just thought it would be convenient.... Bryden (4161)
1446450 2018-02-18 04:35:00 I used to use Roboform but the free version was limited to a certain number of entries. I use LastPass now and haven't really had any problems with it - I also like that you can enable two factor authentication for free. So even if someone somehow got my master password, they still can't access my data. Chikara (5139)
1446451 2018-02-18 06:17:00 I use keepass as well. That when my domain catch all for email means most sites eill get their own unique emails address, and a random password.

Most are an absolute pain in the butt to type especially on a new device to get access to the keepass database. Also the database is protected by a master password and a private key.
