1446281 2018-02-14 00:26:00 Found the last few weeks trying to get anything from Acer AU is horribly slow .

Could I get one or two people to try and download this file and see what speed you get? Just want to make sure it's nothing at this end .

On Spark and 2Degrees here I'm not even getting 40Kbps . . . :badpc:

. acer . com/GDFiles/Driver/VGA/VGA_AMD_8 . 863 . 0 . 0_W7x64_A . zip?acerid=6345711336609" target="_blank">global-download . acer . com 18865&Step1=ALL-IN-ONE&Step2=ASPIRE&Step3=ASPIRE%20Z3171&OS=711&LC=en&BC=ACER&SC=AAP_10

Thanks!

1446282 2018-02-14 00:45:00 Depends on how its downloaded.

Using a Browser - Chrome, FF up and down @ 35 -50 KB/sec

Edge was slightly better at a steady 70KB/sec

Using internet Download manager - started off with a hiss and a roar for about 10-20 seconds at 7 MB/sec, then dropped to between 500-800KB/sec

Keep in mind IDM uses several sources:

8692

ADDED: There is the odd spike of 1-2 MB/sec

1446283 2018-02-14 00:49:00 Thanks, will use IDM. Since downthemall doesn't work anymore I've not had a good multi-threaded download manager.

For me it's using 8 threads and downloading at around 300kbps, so 40x8 = 320, which roughly works out, seems they are limiting things at their end.

Not sure why it's so much slower for me, but this is fine. Thanks.

if you want to use this, just uploaded it to onedrive, heres the download link.

With IDM from one drive it fair rips :banana----- Had to be quick to capture it, 37MB/Sec ( and that was slowing down) :)

1446286 2018-02-14 01:06:00 Just tried a normal Browser as well from that link on One drive ( Tried with Opera -- No IDM) 13MB/Sec

So to answer the original Question -- YEP Acer is the cause OR some sort of restriction Via Acer. HP were the same for a while -- Try downloading a simple Printer driver :sleep

Edited: Glad to help :)
