1445926 2018-02-03 21:16:00 Good morning!!

So I decided to move my iMac to the living room yesterday, I closed the Mac down however for some reason I thought that it was closed down as I couldn't see anything on the screen so I unplugged the power cable, it appeared it was still on. Having moved it now to the living room and starting the Mac again I am noticing a lot of beachballing, sluggish reaction of opening applications, and the internet is FREAKING slow. Speed test revealed no issues unfortunately. I downloaded the etrecheck but am an amateur and can't figure all of this out, anyone able to assist??

Two tests: "Computer to slow" & "Beachballing"

Computer to slow:

EtreCheck version: 3.4.6 (460)
Report generated 2018-02-04 10:08:13

1445927 2018-02-04 03:12:00 That's a lot of info & the answer could be in there somewhere, but apple isn't my first language.

However the last paragraph could have a clue in it.

Have you tried a clean shutdown & reboot.

1445928 2018-02-04 04:31:00 Hey thanks for your reply, I have only done restarts, no actual shutdown, but will do it now. :) mark1978 (13845)
1445929 2018-02-04 22:22:00 The best way to speed up your Mac properly would be to get an SSD installed. Alex B (15479)
1445930 2018-02-04 22:56:00 Try booting in safe boot then restart again, as that sometimes clears out issues.
Power on and hold the shift key until you see the loading bar.

1445931 2018-02-05 21:38:00 Hey, I did what you said and it really helped, its much faster and no beach balling, I never knew that Apple iMac had a safe mode! mark1978 (13845)
