1448095 2018-04-05 05:10:00 You could just use a double adaptor for that.

I don't think so. What we are talking about is a thing where two (or more) devices have their power supply controlled by the state of the "master" device. So I have my table saw and dust extractor plugged into the power strip, which is plugged into a powered on wall socket. I power up the master device (the saw) via the switch on the machine, and that makes the strip supply power to the slave device (the dust extractor). When I power off the saw (at the machine), the dust extractor also stops.

I can't see that happening with a double adapter.

Unless I have the whole concept wrong, of course.

and
"From 28th of April 2016 onwards, this product can no longer be sold to New South Wales customers. "
So doesnt meet modern safety requirement : double pole switching

Im tempted to get one, its only $5 .
Cant be as unsafe as the $10 multi jobs from The Warehouse etc.

I saw the can't be sold message - made me hesitate a bit.

This seems strange - don't Australia and New Zealand have common electrical standards?

That is how my setup works as well.

1448102 2018-04-05 10:35:00 Sounds a bit dodgy to me! I would make sure it was safe and suitable for the power draw your setup uses. Better to be safe instead of having damaged equipment or a pile of ashes! Laggard (17509)
1448103 2018-04-05 10:38:00 New South Wales gets pushed the excess electricity, which causes surges in an attempt to prevent black outs to the south. It could be the reason behind it but other than that, no idea. Kame (312)
