1447046 2018-03-06 20:41:00 Why exactly does it need my age last birthday, and in a later section my date of birth?
Are the gnomes originating this twaddle not aware that there is an ancient system for calculating age given a date of birth? Perhaps they are inner circle Wellington born (un)civil (dis)service gnomes and do not have any non department issued skills. Or maybe they are stuck with Windows 10?

They are probably just checking on your mental status. Had the two answers not been compatible a 'person of authority' may appear at your door at any time. Perhaps offering further assistance of some kind such as a year's free education; a subscription to a self-help magazine or maybe offer you a position in the (un) civil service. :devil

1447048 2018-03-06 21:28:00 re access code in the mail.
it used to be someone knocking on the door & asking how many live in the house & how many forms are needed

code sent in the mail.... all good for those 40+ & still check the mailbox
Younger gen & those renting dont have anything sent to them via mail . Most bills etc are online .
Some no longer even check the mailbox, including some of my neighbours : their maibox's are full from junk mail , they never bother to empty them (no need to)
Mailbox is only a junk mail collection bin & treated as such.

So a huge % just wont be bothering to try & get access codes, they will just ignore the whole thing . No one will ever case them up as
the stats dept doesnt really know who & how many live in what house .

They need to go back to people knocking on doors, asking questions & handing out forms . Cost cutting I guess .

1447049 2018-03-06 21:40:00 Agree, and they will have to conduct another census/enquiry to find out how many did not fill in the forms. They would need to go to every address to find out who didn't.....................:clap

No doubt at all they will claim a plucked out of the air figure for what percentage of the population actually did fill in the forms, but by definition that will be only a rough guess

they will magically discover almost no-one lives on the street, there are no families living in cars , and will be no cases of 2 or more families living in someones garage
So it will be a census of those living in their own home or long term rentals . Because those really struggling or young renters just wont give a damn .

So I ask whats the point , in real world terms .
The figures arnt needed for planning, because everything is underfunded , allways was and allways will be be .
No matter what figures come out of this , every govt dept allready knows they dont have the money/budget needed and never will have .

So lets stop this BS about "needed for planning" .
Needed : roads, public transport, housing, hospitals, schools, teachers, doctors, nurses . There you go, theres your stats . :)

1447052 2018-03-07 00:00:00 Anyone else still not received an access code in the mail? Our next post won't be until Wednesday the 7th, i.e. after census day is supposed to be over.

Apparently you can still do the census anytime up to mid April! lol

But us oldies may have forgotten by then who was at home on census day, as well as the prodigious feat of predicting who may be there if the forms were filled in in advance of the day :)

1447054 2018-03-07 02:33:00 I think this survey will have the largest “Margin of Error” of any survey ever undertaken. :D

What is it that they don’t already know about us with their “Data Matching” anyway?
