1446087 2018-02-09 04:12:00 I have many artwork files I created with Nero 2014 for DVD cases and disks saved to my pc but am now unable to open them in Nero 2017.
Can someone please suggest a remedy?

1446088 2018-02-09 19:52:00 Can you select those formats under default programs, so Nero 2017 opens them? Speedy Gonzales (78)
1446089 2018-02-12 20:54:00 No Speedy, I even tried to open them in Nero-11 and Win-8 that many files were created in yonks ago but still no go. I suspect they could be corrupted after too many updates of OS and Nero.
When I am asked to 'find another app on this computer' how should I select one?

1446090 2018-02-12 22:17:00 Right mouse on one of those extensions / open with. If it lists Nero select it Speedy Gonzales (78)
1446091 2018-02-15 21:22:00 No that option is not there to select Nero, there is only one to search my computer but I am unable to see how to open Nero from the list of installed software that way. PeterE (6851)

1446094 2018-02-16 22:56:00 Once again Speedy, thanks and to 1101.
Can you suggest a "CoverDesigner since it is a free tool. Most designs are fairly simple to rebuild so that may be the easiest way to go. (from Nero help desk)"
I need one mostly for slim DVD cases and printing disc labels, text and .jpg inserts.

But I dont think any of them are free

1446096 2018-02-17 01:42:00 I used to use excel to make a template and then paste whatever I wanted on it, can also use word or one of the free office suites. Once you've done it once and saved the templates it's easy from there.

If you google free cd label makers there are dozens of options, or just use a permanent marker what does it really matter what the covers look like. It's not like they are decorations you spend a lot of time looking at?
I went through a phase of making pretty covers and printing onto the disks, I still have the printer I bought for that purpose. But eventually I stopped caring, and then I stopped burning disks altogether.
