738271 2009-01-13 18:27:00 I bought something off Trademe on 25/12. Seller could not be contacted after repeated emails, he sent me an email 3/1 to say he has been on holiday but I heard nothing since. Talking to the complaints services team is really a problem - they refer me to the Police, but I have not concluded the transaction - it just never happened. No $ exchanged hands. Any suggestions on what to do now?

738272 2009-01-13 18:31:00 You can either persist if you really want the device, or give them a :( rating and move on and win another auction ... Chilling_Silence (9)
738273 2009-01-13 19:05:00 Move on, there are some dodgy dealers on Trademe.

What was the sellers feedback level?

738274 2009-01-13 19:09:00 No, I wanted the stuff as a b'day present and the day is long gone. Can't TM force me to complete the transaction, should the guy suddenly decide to fulfill his side? Secondly, giving him bad feedback means I will get bad feedback as well (from him?)

738276 2009-01-13 19:35:00 Give him a red face. Never mind the retaliatory feedback from them - you get a chance for comment if this happens. Intelligent people can read what really happened when they see your feedback. If everyone was too scared to put a true feedback on a bad deal, then the system becomes useless. user (1404)

738278 2009-01-13 19:55:00 We've had a user with no feedback buy a computer from us some time ago. They never contacted us, never made payment and then gave US bad feedback! His feedback rating is now -1. Serves him right.

BTW that PC is now a NAS box. :D

TM can't force you to do anything.
And in this case the seller stuffed around.

And that 2nd comment annoys me extremely - this is why ^%$##&s end up with good feedbacks, poeple are too wimpy to use the feedback system like it should be.
How about the next person, they should see that this seller is too casual about his sales.

I always read the negatives to see who gave spite bad feedbacks, most of us have enough braisn to figure out who was at fault.
