737227 2009-01-11 02:36:00 Hey,
Im planning to build a pc sometime soon and I have an idea on all the parts I want but Im not sure about the motherboard.

Q6600 Quad core

What do you guys think about wifi motherboards? Are they reliable or do they have some issues?
If thay are good, can you recommend some model to me?

And one more thing, I have not been keeping up to date with the new tech (ddr3 etc). So i was wondering if I have a ddr3 capable mobo, can I mix and match between the ddr components?
for eg ddr2 ram and ddr3 gforce 9xxx.

I guess I dont know what Im talking about and Im confusing the hell out of you? heh

737228 2009-01-11 02:42:00 ? isn't DDRx just for RAM? and i don't think u can get a motherboard with different DDRXs
on it because then all the RAM would be running differently

737229 2009-01-11 02:50:00 You can get mobos that support DDR 2 or 3

BUT most of them state you should ONLY use one or the other. NOT both

It shouldnt be a prob WHAT kind of DDR ram is on the mobo, or a videocard

The videocard can have DDR3, and the mobo can have DDR 2 or 3 on it.

Are you getting confused with motherboard RAM and Graphic Card RAM?....You can only use 1 type at a time, however the motherboard RAM has nothing to do with graphic card RAM, so you could have DDR1,2 or 3 for the mobo, and DDR2 or 3 on your card, though you cant change the latter memory as that is soldered on by the manufacturer

737234 2009-01-11 03:59:00 If you want ASUS, take your pick (www.asus.com)

Then you'll have to decide, whether you want Intel or AMD

737235 2009-01-11 04:15:00 Umm ASUS!!? Im not saying theres anything wrong with that ASUS but I heard its slightly expensive compared to Gigabyte which is just as good. snoopyep (11561)

Dunno about that, I find my suppliers are cheaper for ASUS than Gigabyte. Either will be good though.
