| 843911 | 2009-12-28 20:13:00 | Seasons greeting to all. A question for all the web guru's.... I'm involve with a team running a car in the NZV8 championship. Our driver is a young lady by the name of Christina Orr, she has a web page (Christina.org.nz) but it won't come up on any of the search engines. If you look for her you will find news articals etc but no link to her page. So how can we promote her page? Is it something to do with it being .org instead of .co or .com? I'm just looking for independant advise before I go to the page designer and putting him on the spot. Thanks |

| 843913 | 2009-12-29 02:27:00 | As PCTek said also Bing (Microsoft) www.bing.com Yahoo (partnered with Xtra) siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com Does the NZ V8s have a website? if so do they have lists of drivers and links to those drivers websites, it may be worth asking as getting traffic and links from an existing site is beneficial. -----------------------Ok just checked NZ V8s site at Christinas page there www.nzv8s.co.nz if you look at some of the other drivers pages they have links to their personal website, So get on to them about it, cause that should drive some traffic your way see Simon Richards profile with the link to his personal site www.nzv8s.co.nz |

| 843914 | 2009-12-29 09:08:00 | Techniques I and many use are SEO (search engine optimization techniques), by mainly using semi heavily searched keywords in the web site content pages, url, and title pages (use Google's popular free keyword search tool at Google Adwords (adwords.google.com) - can check volume searches, excat terms, phrases, etc for NZ/Global. Google Insights (www.google.com) also useful for major search terms per country. Also article submissions/ezines (but requires content writing) that allow back links to the site (e.g. Go Articles (www.goarticles.com/), Article City, etc), and link exchange from authoritative sites with similar content. As noted above try to get links from sites that link to similar sites as yours. Use Google Webmaster Tools,Google Analytics, Yahoo Explorer (to view back links for sites) to help assess visitors by keyword search, popular pages, entry/exit points, time on site, custom search segments, etc. Maybe subscribe to SEO sites, such as SEO Zombie (seozombie.com/)- covers topics to increase targeted web traffic. But as many web masters have told me in forums, it's not only quality, but unique and targeted content that attracts visitors (and Google) to get visitors engaged - and return... |

Thanks Google has seen the site and shows 8 results (www.google.com), but it has no links pointing to it whatsoever. Bing has not seen the site. You need to ask whoever publishes/has published online articles about Christina Orr to include the link to the site. The more publishers do this, the more likely your search engine result will come up in searches. Set up Facebook/MySpace/Bebo/Twitter etc accounts in her name. |
