739057 2009-01-19 09:20:00 250 was it a Triumph Tigress? prefect (6291)
739058 2009-01-19 09:26:00 No, it was an Arial twin 2 stroke.

Ken

PS I have fallen off a AJS 500 Single on the same stretch of road. This is what convinces me that it was the roads fault, not the bike. I was just  I think!

That one was a bit heavier to pick up!!!

739059 2009-01-19 09:27:00 Rode bikes up to 400cc for years, without a mishap.

Last week I was in my car (Mercedes SLK230 Kompressor) and took a railway crossing S bend at my usual 100 km/h on cruise control. All hell broke loose, but the ESP took over and kept me off the armco, but I forgot to take my foot off the brake, ended up doing a 360° + another 180° spin on the seal, ended up neatly parked on the other side of the road pointed back the way I had come from.

No other traffic around, no injuries, damage or witnesses.

Bloody council had only just laid 50mm of grit (over melting tar), I never saw the sign.

Reminded me of the care needed on corners with loose shingle or white lines when I had a bike.

damn good thrill though... felt like trying it again.

Just goes to show, you can't take the boy out of the man!! :D

739060 2009-01-19 09:39:00 I had an Ariel 500 single at school. Used to leave advance retard lever on advance and ask people to give it a kick. prefect (6291)
739061 2009-01-19 11:39:00 yeah the forum is very muddled and confusing but the guys on there are brilliant and will provide any help needed

Actually I like the KB forum software. It has more options than here and the forums themselves are very busy. Great NZ site.

739062 2009-01-19 11:54:00 Not to mention they're mostly all helpful as anything! The Mentor rides that I went to here in AK were more useful than I could ever explain, Mac / BigDog and the others were absolutely invaluable while I was getting started, even after I got my restricted. Can still hear some of their words of wisdom from time to time as I ride ... ;) Chilling_Silence (9)

I am not surprised. That S-bend is only supposed to be taken at 50 or 60km/h.
