738991 2009-01-16 06:22:00 I quoted a customer for a video card from BDT a couple of days ago (they had it in stock) & told him I could't order it until I got a hold of my boss who is on holiday (expensive card that we aren't installing for him - want to make sure the boss is OK with that). Today, it isn't even on their site & dove don't have any in stock. :( luckily the customer was understanding, and when I asked him if he wanted to cancel or wait on Dove, he decided to wait.

As has been stated earlier in this thread, pricespy isn't the useful because a lot of the prices and/or stock levels are out of date.

738992 2009-01-16 06:59:00 OH NO!!!! BDT are closeing down the grumpy old business owners want to have a cry all by themselfs!!!:crying
They dont like people using www.pricespy.co.nz to get good far prices on computer products they wish we could get ripped of instead from them!!!:horrified

You completely miss the entire point of this thread.

Which is about Wholesalers. Where do you think the retailers on Pricespy buy their stuff from? PLaces like BDT.

I couldn't care less where you buy from, this isn't about end users and what retail shops they use.

And you miss the point totally anyway - its a symptom of the general recession, not about this particular business.

'You are now becoming offensive.

738993 2009-01-16 08:52:00 You do that.

And why don't you butt out, this discussion isn't for little boys looking to buy cheap parts, its for us business owners.

738996 2009-01-16 19:38:00 The post is simply stating that one of the major importers is closing due to the financial times .

Haven't BDT just chosen to concentrate on the parts of their business that make more money than the computer division? Even in the good times the computer area probably wasn't that profitable compared with the rest of the business .

738997 2009-01-16 20:27:00 Thats right PaulD - the other side of the business, Eg: the heating and heat pumps etc are apparently doing very well I was advised when talking to Blair - one of the people that work at BDT. wainuitech (129)
738998 2009-01-17 08:05:00 it is open to anyone .

The post is simply stating that one of the major importers is closing due to the financial times .

Just been speaking to another major supplier today when ordering some more HDD's - Hard Drives are going up in the next lot of imports from the manufactures, so their prices will reflect - which gets past onto the shops/resellers .

On a sort of related note, CS4 Design Suite (Standard) costs way more than CS3 design standard did . Adobe put their prices up for CS4, but the NZ/AUD dollar value compared to the US also made it more costly you can almost add $1,000 onto the price for the equivalent this time last year .
