| 739197 | 2009-01-17 07:29:00 | Canada Geese can fly to 9,000 ft. Asian Geese can reach 30,000 ft, as above, over the Himalayas. I doubt that they hit the geese much below 3,000 ft as in a previous post, as with no engines the could not have "continued to 3000 ft". But good flying whatever. |

| 739201 | 2009-01-18 14:58:00 | Nah, think I have it now.... The geese were deliberately fired at the airliner by the... err.. CIA! Yer thats it the CIA did it with one of those air canon thingies they used on Myth-busters to umm.... to ummm, oh I know, to drum up more support on the paranoia war on terror!!! But the pilot is really good right, so its arranged for him to land on water. Not hard water like we get in the taps around here, but soft water so the landings not too hard. That way they get the best of both. More money for the paranoia war and a hero. Lets face it they haven't had a hero since the white-house maid discovered and cleaned out the scum from the bathroom. Yer thats it!! |

Yer thats it!! I'm sure the geese were personally trained by Bush to fly into the engines to create a diversion for him leaving office. I heard he let them loose from a grassy knoll by the airport. |

Hey Cic When engines are damaged they can continue for a period to produce some power before they fail completely. Quote from NZ Herald "The account illustrated how quickly things deteriorated after the bump at 900m, and their fast realisation that returning to LaGuardia or getting to another airport was impossible" |
