843632 2009-12-27 22:40:00 Thats right its meant to be on selective since you changed it, you have to reboot for it to take effect Speedy Gonzales (78)
843633 2009-12-27 22:45:00 Because it is selective it doesnt load the firewall or AV?

Thinking I might start from scatch again as still dropping BB conection.

Restarted and BB now connected and seems to be staying. Installing SP1 so will see what happens.

If all else fails will start over from scratch.

843634 2009-12-27 22:56:00 Tick load startup items, then the AV and firewall will run Speedy Gonzales (78)

843637 2009-12-28 04:48:00 Spoke to soon Speedy.
Still losing the broadband connection. Everything was going well then it suddenly dropped out.

Could this be a hardware problem??
It was working fine before I did the reinstall.
I unticked the IPv6 as you suggested.

843638 2009-12-28 05:04:00 What have you put under Ipv4 / TCP/IP?? Give it an ip (within the routers ip range), and enter the router's ip in as the gateway. And put your ISP's DNS server ips underneath. And if that doesnt work, try another NIC. Are you talking about wireless or wired thats dropping? Speedy Gonzales (78)
843639 2009-12-28 05:18:00 Thanks Speedy.
I have just bypassed the wireless router and gone directly into the modem. Seems to be working ok at present. Mind you I have said that before only to find I was wrong.
There may have been an IP conflict between the Modem, the router, and the computer so will see how it goes.
May get back to you re your NIC suggestion if I run into more problems, as I may need some help with it.

843640 2009-12-28 05:20:00 You have to make sure no ips are the same, inc the other networked PC's. or you or the others will have probs Speedy Gonzales (78)
