Yes it is.
Its just that there isn't a lot of shooting going on over it.

I see quite a number of "foreign" people in my shop.
Some visiting and some on working holidays and some just here living and working.

I find them interesting.

Oh really?

738768 2009-01-15 18:31:00 I heard a comment by the owner on the radio that he was very very pleased with the attention this story has received - I assume it is his way of highlighting the issue. From this I wouldnt be surprised if the owner would want this to go all the way to the Human Rights Commission. sam m (517)

It won't. Not with great publicity like that! Both radio and television. You can't buy that sort of advertising. People will be flocking to see his place (and him) and some of those people will buy something. What people think of him is beside the point. Some will call him names but many will buy.

It's the old Hollywood adage: "Any publicity is good publicity."

Besides, he is within his rights to refuse anyone admission to his shop and can eject anyone he wishes. His silly mistake was giving his reason.

So, he isnt in his right then as he is practicing discrimination....

He could get a job as a bomb catcher.

738772 2009-01-16 03:45:00 The irony of the situation seems to have escaped all posters, especially Solly :)

The cafe owner is a Turk, it was the Turks who committed the first holocaust 1915-1917, slaughtering between 1 million and 1.5 million Armenians.

Then of course the Turkish government has pretended nothing ever happened. so Mustapha Tekinkaya would never have been taught at school about his countries savagery, in much the same way Japanese children are not taught about their countries atrocities.

Robert Fisk again....www.groong.org

en.wikipedia.org

www.armeniapedia.org

There are many many more sites telling about the first holocaust - genocide of the Armenian peoples and the still current denial by the Turkish Government.
