737291 2009-01-11 05:52:00 Who do u think is supplying Israel with their weaponry, Paul?
If the US wouldn't supply Israel with arms I'm sure the Russian would have.
As for the conflict I think Israel and the Palestines are just as bad as each other.

737292 2009-01-11 05:56:00 As I understand it, Palestine was Palestine until after WW2 when the U.N. ( who 'owned' Palestine at the time under some weird Charter ) decided to split it up and re-settle the Jews from (mainly) Europe there.

Yes.

Israelites owned it briefly before Rome came along and upset things, causing religious arguments for the next 2000 years. Which is why they were given that bit of land and not say Stewart Island or the Falklands or whatever.

737295 2009-01-11 07:41:00 How interesting, the knowledge differs....did any of you know that the land has been the jews well before the Arabs.....as their is NO Palestinian state, never was, and it is their propaganda machine which shows you as much blood shed as they can to win sympathy for their cause. The land was original jewish, but as said, the Roman destroyed it, however it has been in Jewish occupion for over 2 thousand years. It is the anti semetics which have done their best to cloud history into believing that the UN took Arab land away from them...

I just get pi**ed off with the media who also cloud history and peoples minds to support the poor old arabs, who will never rest until Israel is destroyed...

737296 2009-01-11 07:55:00 The protesters I wonder about.
They protest about the jews but not about the arabs sending crappola over there.
They protest at the backs situation in S/A,but not against Mogabe,we say the media are to blame, but what do they gain,?

737297 2009-01-11 07:59:00 Of all the countries I have been to those are two that I haven't and have no intention of visiting.

They have been at war for century's and will still be at war many generations after we have all gone.

So long as it stays contained there it's not something to worry about really IMHO.

737298 2009-01-11 08:04:00 I stand corrected Thanks Sol for putting that right, I must do more reading sometime, I knew it went back a long way but didn't know the Jews owned it all along. Your correct the media have been telling it wrong. gary67 (56)
737299 2009-01-11 09:16:00 Although I cant say I'm a practicing Jew, or even jewish really, heritage is what it is, my mother is a very strong born again and knows the bible and the history of the Jews inside out....Too many dinners have I spent since she was born again, and I must say I am coming around to thinking of him above though have yet to acknowledged it publicly.

I spent some time there back in 94, my 1st wife's family was very political and had ambassador associates which we visited when there. Needless to say my surname (as Jewish as you can get) went down very well and opened up quite a bit to me...

I now boil inside when I see the media misguiding the uninformed to protest and march etc all in the name of selling stories, the worst bit is that so many are taken in by it and believe too readily the in the underdog which admittedly the Arab's of Gaza are.

What I cant understand is how the West so easily believe that the terrorists of Hamas are now a legit government who think only of their cause, not their people, hence their deception and hiding of arms within their peoples community..

rant over

sorry

737300 2009-01-11 09:23:00 Today, SWMBO and I took our kayaks out to sea on a beautiful calm morning and since it was low tide we stopped at a beach on the way back and spent 5 minutes gathering 2 dozen green lipped mussels which we later had for dinner with tomatoes and basil and garlic from our garden and spaghetti. All washed down with a Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc.

Gaza and what happens there seems totally irrelevant to me..................
