843886 2009-12-29 01:04:00 Are you trying to save to the program directory? Both Vista and Win 7 can have issues with that. McRuff (12291)
843887 2009-12-29 02:01:00 I have 32 bit version of Windows 7.
As in XP I would like to save the edited code in the same place it came from.
Sorry for the lack of expertise in this field.

I have had issues with a couple of older programs that try to write to the directory where the program is installed. This is usually C:\Program Files\Program Name. Win 7 and Vista try and protect those files I presume from Viruses. If your data is stored there that may be causing your problem. You could try saving the data into a data directory like Documents and see if that fixes it

As a work around to make my programs run correctly I created a new directory C:\Programs\Program Name and installed to that. Those 2 programs work correctly now and Win 7 does not stop them from making changes.

843889 2009-12-29 19:15:00 Thank you McRuff. Tried that but still get the 'Path/File access error' message with the
path the same as it used to access the program.
