740515 2009-01-20 05:43:00 Hi everyone,

Pconlineshop seems to have a lot of competitive prices at the moment. Just wondering if anyone has dealt with them, and what experiences they had?

I am looking to buy a HDD and a DVDRW.

Cheers,

740516 2009-01-20 05:47:00 Yup. Very good experiences. Had a faulty PSU and they replaced it within 1 working day of receiving it. Very pleased with their service.

A friend of mine ordered a motherboard and CPU, which went missing after they were picked up by the courier. They re-sent the order within a few days after making a claim with the courier company.

However, they seem to order stock into their workshop, and then send it out to you - rather than having it sent direct from their suppliers. This means it sometimes adds an extra day to shipping, but it's not a big deal.

740518 2009-01-20 06:01:00 Oh yeah I purchased something from them

I called them to sort it out.The guy was pretty nice and about it but the lack of commmunications sometimes in email and disappearance when you call them sometimes worries me.

I purchased $900 worth of things from them and received every single purchase

You all miss the point.
Any dodgy dealer will sell you something. Its when the after sales service comes into it that the Great shops are sorted from the cowboys.

740521 2009-01-20 20:02:00 I bought a $700-800 scanner got it thou I paid with credit card .. that would be my personal way dealing with less ideal stores you don't know too much about ie.. those not highly recommended by that list someone posted abvoe. Nomad (952)
740522 2009-01-20 20:06:00 I think, c1 shopping mall had $110 SATA 500GB Seagates, I got 3x recently. They had like 75 in stock at the time. That's a bang for buck. Affordable shipping, takes credit card too without surcharge.

I put my system up .. from a v brief sample of it ... Intel 8200 quad, 4gb, xp windows 32 bit at the time being etc. Me thinks a quicker computer is throw in 1x or 2x in stripe RAID 0, some 10,000RPM HDDs :p Raptor HDDs or the one that is called Veliraptor or something like that. With std SATAs (2nd generation) For photog I find that when it gets going it gets going however I do notice some latency before it kicks in.

Yea, It was my original intention to go with C1 , but they are closed until the 8th of feb for some website upgrade.

From what i've heard those Seagate drives are pretty dodge at the moment - although they are offering some data recovery program.
