740502 2009-01-20 04:47:00 Any recommendations?

I realise this question has been asked before numerous times, Figure things change so quickly its worth asking again...

740503 2009-01-20 07:52:00 Have a look here http://en.openocr.org/ for the open version of Cuneiform.

I've just installed it and it worked well on the sample I gave it. I normally use FineReader, another Russian OCR

740504 2009-01-20 08:27:00 Cheers, I just tried a few, none were great, though would have been fine if the pages were just text.

The amount of work required to reformat everything, add the missing bits, and fix the mistakes means I'm better off just starting from scratch.

740508 2009-01-20 09:35:00 I'm just going to recreate all the documents, The idea was was scan them into digital format for the purpose of rewriting them anyway.

In fact, I sat down to start an hour ago and haven't yet even opened any other program apart from Firefox.....

740509 2009-01-20 10:25:00 Copy and paste is usually better than scan and OCR. Sweep (90)
