| 740038 | 2009-01-18 20:10:00 | There's jobs out there ... word of mouth seems to keep me with more than enough web-design stuff. In fact I have to turn down a certain amount because its not what I want to do. Freelancing could potentially be a good way to go, get a website of your own, advertise your own skills, then go out and meet people and see how you go :) Of course if the first thing you say is "Hi Im X, and Im looking for some web design work" then nobody will probably want to know... One more thing, dont go Googl'ing, finding businesses email addy's and spamming them. Some dude came to NZ from another country and sent an email TO: me and about 20 other businesses like PBTech, Eden Computers etc. I emailed him back giving him a hard time for not at least using the BCC field and told him never to email me like that again. Two weeks later I get a very similar email to all the same people except a couple more businesses (Still not bright enough to use the BCC function). Very tempted to report him to the authorities for spamming, but I figured the guy was new to the country and I'd cut him a break ... |
