739569 2009-01-16 23:21:00 Sony's return Policy:

RMA \ Return Policy

All products have a 30 day warranty from invoice date.

Return of defective product is allowed within the 30 day warranty
period. Please contact your salesperson to obtain an RMA (Return
Material Authorization number). Once an RMA has been issued, the
warranty will be shipped the same method as originally shipped at
Capital Data, Inc.'s expense. Returns are allowed for 30 days.
After 30 days, the goods will be billed to the customer. The
customer is responsible for the shipping expense associated with
any items on an RMA.

Misuse or abuse of a product is not eligible for warranty replacement
at Capita Data, Inc.'s expense.

Return of equipment which is not defective within the 30 day period
is subject to a restock fee of 35%. Freight and expedite fees are
non-refundable.

739573 2009-01-17 03:04:00 Just wondering if anyone knows the return policy on sony vaio laptops purchased from sony style (unopened)

If unopened then I think that you would not know if the laptop is defective. If not defective then you should look up the CGA and see what it says. As I was not privy to any promises that Sony gave you I am not in a position to judge.

Why do you wish to return the product?

Based on this pressf1.co.nz

There may have been communication difficulties on both sides.

739574 2009-01-17 04:21:00 I bought it, then I realised I MIGHT be able to get it through work through Dove Electronics distributor who do Sony Vaio

Though I'm not sure what price it would be from Dove as I don't know what margin difference is...
Perhaps someone familiar with Dove (.co.nz) can tell me what the price difference would be buying through them...

739575 2009-01-17 04:46:00 First of all we need to know the model number - they do several - then need to know what you paid for it.

THEN either myself or someone else with a Dove account can tell you. Not mind readers you know

Edited: Hmmmm Interesting, They have 13 models, - but dove are not showing the Sony Vaios in the dealers price lists.

But if you supply the above details still other vendors have them so prices are much of a muchness.

739576 2009-01-17 05:00:00 Yeah sure mate

I got the VGNZ26GNB for $3000 Which is the current base model far as I'm aware

Though I've checked dove and they only have the 16,17 and 27 listed.
I'd be happy with: VGNZ16GNB
which Dove have listed

Can you send the price dove do on that?

Cheers

Btw: yeah i checked the dove dealer pricelist and they don't show them there which is not suprising as Sony like Apple no doubt regulate price / resellers

BTW 2: I just opened the box to have a look (no seal to break so no biggy) and.. This laptops not black.. It's like a dark charcoal grey. Whats up with that. I wanted black thought it was black, the demo one was..

???
