They have their own parking areas, camp grounds, discounts and a great travel directory. The NZMCA red wings are distinctive and other members will always help if possible. http://www.nzmca.org.nz/ |

This was the bus I was going to buy, Though when I was discussing the price the gearbox was working and I hadn't been told it had failed a cof due to rust. www.trademe.co.nz |

Just got be careful with engine. They came out with 6 cyl petrol but they use enough petrol to keep the Sheiks happy. Some have been converted to LPG but its still too expensive to run. Some have been converted to 330 Bedford diesel but they all getting too long in the tooth and can breakdown. Perkin conversion are good but best is Isuzu 4bd1 or better still the 6BD1. The containment certificate is required for DOC campgrounds. The certificate is free to get if you join NZMCA not hard to do. Got to have right size vent hoses, water traps in drains, container for drain hoses. As Sue said enough capacity for 3 days of toilet, water, and rubbish bin. |

The above are crapping all over the countryside and as a result many Councils only allow overnight parking if the vehicle has a Self Containment certificate. ~ You may have to redo the budget. |

Poo poo away. Can't say I care what councils think, Cross that bridge when i come to it. |

| 739692 | 2009-02-07 10:33:00 | Sadly, every single bus I have looked at in my budget has been a piece of crap or just unsuitable, even when I doubled the budget (what's life without massive crippling debt anyway?) Plan B-Get a caravan. Anyone know anything about caravans? |

Plan B-Get a caravan. Anyone know anything about caravans? Yes I do but are you going to tow it a lot or just park it at your favourite spot wherever you decide that will be. Have you considered a family tent or tents? HTH |

HTH Intending to do a bit of both, Would like to park it somewhere a couple of hours away so we can just shoot off on a Friday arvo for a weekend away, and hook it up to the wagon and go touring when the mood strikes us. Tents aren't really my thing, Faced with a night in a tent I'd go and check into a motel.... |
