740461 2009-01-21 09:51:00 I would have thought that the object of the excersize was to watch TV programs on a TV set not flash videos on a PC..

Some flash video's quality doesn't seem all that bad (but then, we still have a old tv and monitor, so that might be why). Also, I would likely watch the shows on either the pc and tv (Plug pc into tv via s-video)

740462 2009-01-21 18:43:00 Thanks Nermal, I might try that.

How big (file size) are the TV shows you've downloaded?

For an hour-long show (about 45 minutes without ads) they're roughly 500 MB in SD and 1.4 GB in HD.

Mostly just top gear, but every now and then there may be others.

740465 2009-01-22 09:28:00 TopGear? Go look for the pirate that lives on a bay.

Topgears one of the best seeded TV shows ever

Wouldn't my isp (http://www.rurallink.co.nz) turn my connection off if they found out? (with that new law and everything)

740467 2009-01-22 11:10:00 Prob not, as customers are their source of income, if they killed everyone that was torrenting's connection they'd have lost half their customers! Blam (54)
740468 2009-01-22 11:36:00 They'd lose more than half.

Plus, Bittorrent is not the only way to download things

They'll have no customers left in that case. Which doesn't mean I'm directing you to EZTV, that would be wrong.

740470 2009-01-24 09:20:00 If these show were broadcast in NZ within a few weeks, then there would be
no need to download them.
Just what am I paying my Sky fees for again????

Its a bit of a grey area as to whether this could be called piracy, given that some some these TV downloads are actually(eventually) shown free to air...and
can be legally(??) copied on your old VCR.
