So I just got myself a ViewSonic 22" Full HD monitor. It has the usual DVI port and my first - an HD port. Do I need to hook up the monitor to the video card (I have a Radeon 5870) using an HD cable to view HD content on the monitor?
If not, then what is the HD port for? Is the normal DVI connector able to view HD content? |

HDMI supports / carries audio, DVI doesnt, thats the only diff. Besides that DVI and HDMI are the same. The videocard SHOULD also support HDCP. Otherwise you may have probs viewing DVD / bluray |
