742082 2009-01-26 05:50:00 I'm getting a bit sick of rice & mixed vegetables, but haven't really cooked any other healthy meals before (plenty of very nice unhealthy meals :drool)

What is your favourite healthy meal & your favourite quick healthy meal?

742084 2009-01-26 06:13:00 Muesli is good, other than that, those wraps (www.empowerfoods.com.au) you car buy that you fill up with our favorite fruit and veggies are also good  davidmmac (4619)
742085 2009-01-26 06:15:00 Make sure you don't get TOASTED muesli, or else it makes muesli unhealthy Blam (54)
742086 2009-01-26 06:17:00 It's not the most manly of meals, but you can't go past a good salad for a healthy, versatile meal:

Marinate a chicken breast in tandoori paste/honey, soy sauce & orange zest/cajun spice/garlic, thyme & olive oil (take your pick) . Grill it quickly so it doesn't dry out .

Get some mixed leaves, mix with a little bit of something acidic (lemon/orange/lime juice, red wine vinegar etc) and an oil (extra virgin olive oil), and toss with some sea salt flakes and fresh black pepper .

Add some roasted red pepper, and cashew/pine/ nuts, some fine red onion rings, maybe a handful of croutons, slice the chicken on an angle, and mix through .

Serve with a nice crusty loaf (sourdough/ciabatta are my faves!), and a cold beer or sauvignon blanc . . . . . delicious .

The great thing is how versatile salads are - you can come up with so many variations on the theme :drool

742087 2009-01-26 06:56:00 Spaghetti Bolognese, so easy.

Brown some mince in a pan, add one tin of Watties Pasta sauce. (My fav is tomato and onion) Put some dried pasta Spaghetti or similar) into pot of boiling water for around 12 mins. In a separate pot, cook some Broccoli and green beans.
Put sauce and mince onto Pasta and tip veges over it. Yummm and very healthy!

Compared to a couple pies?

742089 2009-01-26 07:25:00 lol...Not exactly a fair comparison:p Blam (54)
742090 2009-01-26 07:39:00 Cook some thin round Highmark egg noodles in a pot, with a little bit of chicken stock and sesame oil until nearly done. Add 1/2 a cup of frozen veges, cook until noodles and veges are done. Season a piece of fresh fish with pepper and a pinch of salt (optional), and pan-fry until done. Serve with the noodles. somebody (208)
