741094 2009-02-10 21:50:00 I am tending to find that despite the fact Antivir is a great free AV, some people are shutting it down simply because they are sick of the popups.

Yeah those Avast poups are starting too pss me off as well. Its more than a popup when it takes 1/2 the screen .
On the good side, for some reason Antivir seems to check my emails even thou this isnt officially supported in the free version.

741096 2009-02-11 00:17:00 I got 2 pc's going at home, one is running off AVG and the other running on Avast.
Havent really noticed much difference between the 2, except Avast tends to alert you more.
Maybe AVG has gone to sleep...

What pop-ups? You mean the one that tells you everything has been updated? That's a tiny thing on the taskbar that stays up for about 5s. If that annoys you, jeez thats not very patient of you.

Or simply just running their XP account as a limited account. I've been doing this for a computer I recently re-installed. I mainly run Firefox and a few other programs, works like a charm. Surprisingly.
