Does a NAS device count?

741909 2009-01-25 18:43:00 One file server running FreeNas.

What is everybody else running for their file print servers?

741910 2009-01-25 18:50:00 We have a NAS box (1.2GHz, 256MB RAM) running Windows XP Professional (don't laugh, it has a PCI SATA card for which only Windows drivers existed :p). We use it for storing backups. pcuser42 (130)
741911 2009-01-25 18:53:00 I used to have a full PC as a server, but have since changed to a wifi base with USB (can connect drives and printers) which of course draws less energy and is much quieter :) Nermal (7077)

it will replace one of the others , once i get an OS installed.....

as for the current two servers, one is file server and web server.
the other one is a dev server , also used for POVRAY rendering.

Win2000 Pro. Tried to put Server 03 on it once (about a year ago) but it was too slow :(

It's only got a 500MHz proc and 256MB of RAM... so it can't really handle much more than files and printers :p

741914 2009-01-25 22:39:00 Sort of a multi-purpose server.

An old P4, Win XP I still have lurking around.

Used to be a web server, now a file server, thinking to change it to a network firewall. :o

Ouch... that's an expensive experiment, server 2003 isn't cheap!
