741413 2009-01-24 02:17:00 As far as "P" goes, I like the some of the lyrics from from the album "Brown Sabbath" by Deja Voodoo...

"I smoked P and I didn't cut anybody's hands off"

741414 2009-01-24 02:45:00 The police use soft nose bullets same purpose as dum dums call them want you want I will I call them dum dums. Correct soft nose is banned by Geneva conventions but so is the use of shotguns in war. They are designed to splatter for want of a scientific name and not just a make a hole in someone and carry on to wax someone else.
Also they dont just wound they make a large wound exit hole so the crook is knocked down.

741415 2009-01-24 04:04:00 So, qazwsxokmijn, have you ever actually set foot in a New Zealand jail?

Do you have any experience of them? Know, or have known, or visited any inmates?

Anything?

I wouldn't want to spend one night in a New Zealand prison, they could hardly be described as a hotel.

741416 2009-01-24 04:08:00 I know quite a few people who "cruised" through prison, or so they say, they all came out changed people, not always for the better.Well, never for the better but at least they modified their behaviour to ensure they avoided the place from that point on.

Those that are in their element in jail and only come out to go on a crime spree are an entirely different breed of filth.

741417 2009-01-24 04:57:00 I say bring back cumulative sentencing.

5 years for the first hand bag snatch
10 years for breaking into the guys house and stealing his car
5 years for failing to stop when asked
10 years for attempted murder firing at police
5 years for firing rifle in public place
5 years for unlawful possession of fire arm (presumed)
5 years for reckless driving.
10 years for attempted kidnapping.
1 year for each police car damaged (or he can pay cash up front for their repairs if he has the cash)
That comes to about 60 years - that should do it. and no parole.
Plus of course if he fired the fatal shot another 20 years.
Plus using P (if he was)

And the jail should be solitary confinement, no tv, no video, one visit a month, and there should be a hook hanging from the ceiling in case he wants to use it.

***, not this again....

It's of course a bloody exaggeration. No prisons can be compared to even a one star hotel, but what criminals get in this country, is what a decent man gets for his money.

But yes, I am a friend of a local gang member. He's been in prison twice, each for a couple of months. He says it's not bad. Walked out smiling as always. He used to be a good but naughty Maori kid 9 years ago. Now he's followed the footsteps of his rubbish neighbors and unfortunately joined the local gang.

That answered your question, mate?

741419 2009-01-24 05:33:00 What excuses are we going to hear this time for the scumbag who killed the innocent bystander?

www.nzherald.co.nz

When is the Government going to throw away the keys for these low life cretins?

I take it this view is still valid now we know it was a police officer who shot and killed the innocent bystander?

The usual excuse. It was an accident and wasn't their fault.

Although I would have thought there was some training in aiming at least.

What a wonderful selective quote.

Did you even read my qualifying post two posts later?

Bet you just love being so bloody sanctimonious :D

So what you're saying is imprisonment isn't very effective at changing behaviour, in fact most likely makes things worse.
