| 741280 | 2009-01-24 23:34:00 | Rusalka - Song to the Moon - Lucia Popp nz.youtube.com As far as I'm concerned it's the most beautiful aria composed ever. For those that don't know, Rusalka is effectively the little mermaid, which explains the weird costume. Nessun Dorma is OK, but completely misunderstood as far as meaning is concerned. It's an incredibly self centred piece in the context of the opera. Agreed, Pavarotti was the best voice, but opera demands much more than a voice. For performances that have a little bit of power and emotion I go with Domingo every time. That man was/is a real artist. |
