845809 2010-01-14 09:22:00 If it's any help I have a script from Technet that will create the Win 7 god mode folders (all of them ) for you.

Anyone wants it PM me.

845810 2010-01-14 17:51:00 hey do the ones that nmercer found work in vista? And if so how do you make them. Or is that what your script does Sweep? nedkelly (9059)
845811 2010-01-14 19:09:00 You simply create a folder, then rename it -- BTW doesn't matter what you call it either. Notice the . after the name All you will see is the name you created. tried them all as listed, some appear not to work in W7. Have not tried in Vista.

Example: computer.{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}

Will make/ change the folder Icon and you will have a link to as if opening Computer / my Computer.

Edited: dont know who called it god mode, but its just a name someone made up - its simply a shortcut to a reg key thats already in vista / W7 at least.

Example:
Type regedit in RUN or Startmenu Searchbox and press Enter. It'll open Registry Editor. Now go to following key:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}

Or press "Ctrl+F" in Registry Editor and search for {ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C} string. It'll open the same key for you.

845812 2010-01-15 10:05:00 Looks like The script and how to do it (blogs.techrepublic.com.com) is posted as well.

Couldn't be bothered looking through technet - to much info :dogeye:

Mind you the "average" person wouldn't ever use most of the functions.

845813 2010-01-15 10:08:00 There's also a tool / program, that does it for you in Vista and Win7. Speedy Gonzales (78)
845814 2010-01-15 10:10:00 I just get the Newletters and it was in there and I agree that most people would never use them all. Sweep (90)
845815 2010-01-15 21:00:00 I just get the Newletters and it was in there and I agree that most people would never use them all. Awhh right :thumbs: I vaguely remember seeing something along those lines, but I must have dumped it - a person can only read so much from those newsletters. :rolleyes:

Was it the Technet Flash newsletter Sweep ??? The last one I have is

Volume 12, Issue 1 | January 13, 2010

Which reminds me - better do This month’s Microsoft Partner Research Panel study -- I had to tick yes years ago didn't I :lol:
