743501 2009-01-30 23:22:00 Hi all

About to leave our unbearably hot weather and drop myself into freezing temperatures in Europe for the best part of 5 weeks.

I have so many devices that need charging (MP3 player, Camera, Netbook etc) that I was wondering if one plug adaptor then a NZ multibox plugged into that would work or even have safety issues?

It seems easier than having three plug adaptors and devices sprinkled around whatever room I happen to be crashing in for the night.

Any thoughts welcome!

Cheers.

743503 2009-01-30 23:47:00 Don't do what I did - a friend at work lent me his all-singing, all-dancing multi-national gizmo, but unknown to me (or him) it had a hidden internal fuse which my wife blew with the first blast of her hairdryer.

Whatever adapter you get, make sure the pins are solid brass from one end to the other.

Enjoy your trip !

Just the short days and lack of light!! :D

I don't see any problem with using a single adaptor and a multi-board. Seems a sensible solution.

When I went to Europe a couple of years ago, I bought a DC-AC converter that could plug into the cigarette lighter, and recharge stuff while on the move (we were doing a lot of driving)...

743506 2009-01-31 12:08:00 Thanks all

Guess I'll take a powerboard with me then. It just seems easier!!!

Not a great deal of sun around over there at this time of year so I don't think solar power would get me far!

How did we used to survive travelling without all these gizmos?

Cheers

743507 2009-01-31 21:23:00 when I went over I took a 6 way NZ powerboard and an international adaptor, worked a treat as voltage is the same as here. Should be no worries Barnabas (4562)
