742928 2009-01-29 05:29:00 I get tourists in quite often asking for wireless access.
Tempting................

Happened to go check out a PC at a local business who had been through the other IT places already.
The last one had taken their original modem away and replaced it with a Dlink G604T. Used. Without booklet, CD or whatever.
He had left it configured as user@jetstream.co.nz and left the wirless part as NONE Security.

Been like that for several months.
He also took their printer as it apparently had a huge too expensive to fix problem and sold them one for $80. They had been wondering why they had to buy replacement cartridges every week. Well its 250 pages per cartridge might be a clue there.

Amazing.

Oh and no antispyware protection either......

742931 2009-01-29 08:24:00 No wonder we used to get so many Gore customers. Says a lot that they are willing to take their computer into Invercargill rather than have a local company fix it. Greven (91)
742932 2009-01-30 07:13:00 It may have been a IT Cowgirl . I know of one thats in the Gore area .

Anyway how do you know you have got all the facts . Customers are always saying things like " I never touched a thing' they may have reset the modem to its default settings? .

Customers also often want the cheapest option when they buy and dont consider the running expences untill they have to replace catridges .
