This is all through the night, can hear em coming from miles away.
Glad I'm not the only one with that problem. Sometimes about 3.00am on a Sunday morning you here them. They go away disappear into the distance then 5 mins later you here them coming back again.

743923 2009-02-03 05:00:00 It used to be well policed when it first came out. Seriously 3/4 people I knew who had loud cars would just stay at home, or stay out of town. I used to drive through town with the silencer on mine, even though without it the level was still well below level.

Its just not as actively enforced from what I can tell

When I was with the MOT it was called selective enforcement.

743925 2009-02-03 05:23:00 They will never stop 'boy racers'. They will just go elsewhere. Time the government asked these boy racers what they want. convair (13650)
743926 2009-02-03 05:39:00 Sure, then we can ask the shoplifters what they want, see if there is anything we can do for the arsonists, Maybe the wife beaters could do with a bit of training in the finer points of boxing, Make them punches really count. Metla (12)

Of course the Government will pay for what the racers want. They want to annoy a number of people and taxpayers will pay for it.

It may be time to intercept text messages on mobile phones.
This so the enforcement can happen where these hoons decide to go.l

743928 2009-02-03 05:52:00 Its not all but a few who give those who have a genuine interest in their cars a bad name. Im not meaning the government should give the boy racers what they want, I was meaning giving them the maximum penaltys and crushing the cars.

Thats all Im saying.

743929 2009-02-03 07:02:00 boy racing isnt bad as an idea, where its being done is the problem

i agree with jimm, listen to them (note im not admitting to it for fear of being ambushed with abuse). Do you honestly think that they want to wake small children and wreck peoples streets?

They want attention, and if that means waking people up at 3am from a deep sleep, then I guess that satisfies their need.

If they are that retarded (and it goes without saying that most of them are) that they don't realise the noise of their exhausts and blow-off valves would be annoying to the public, then they aren't likely to wake up and change their behaviour by their own free will.

Mostly, they don't want to go to a dedicated venue. Part of the thrill and the fun for them is hooning around on public roads.

743931 2009-02-03 07:19:00 you say "they" as if all people driving cars with custom exhausts have the same goals in life

and retarded? a bit harsh considering you most likely dont know any. The thrill is the adrenaline that comes with it, not the fact its breakin the law. Personally i dont skid etc so much now as im sh*t scared il lose my pride and joy. And im not retarded or attention seeking even when i do

And "they" would want to use a dedicated venue, it means they can have fun while not having anyone nuttin off at them or risking fines etc, of course there will be exceptions because there always someone out there tryin to wreck everything for others
