OK. How about Maori Bitching Day then?? I agree with you it should be abolished and a new New Zealand day established along the lines of Australia Day in say about March while the weather is still good..

743786 2009-02-01 06:00:00 Its boat behind camper and off to Papaaroha in the Coromandel, will leave around 4.00pmThursday on purpose to get the rush hour traffic. Thats because the old Bedford only does 80 km max down a hill so it wont be slowing the traffic down.
I think they should change the name to New Zealand day because Waitangi day is about Maoris and English. A lot of new immigrants from other countries would struggle to identify with the holiday.
Bogan you can call me white, European, Caucasian I dont care, but not pakeha because its Maoris for pig.

743787 2009-02-01 06:04:00 I'm not defined by my colour, I'm no more proud of being white then I am proud of the colour of my eyes. Likewise I see nothing special about being a brown skinned New Zealander.

EDIT-The comment about being proud of being white was removed from the other persons post, so now mine has no point......

743788 2009-02-01 06:14:00 gee, let's call Queen's Birthday "massacre the Indians day".

Now thats got me annoyed. Maori like to portray themselves as the terrific noble ecological people ruined by the invasion of the nasty conquering countryside trashing English.

Perhaps we should have a remember the Moriori Day.
And a remember the moa and Haast eagle day.

Maori were quite happily slaughtering themselves after they ran out of Morioris to kill when they got a new lot to fight.

Stereotyping is great, isn't it? Every one can blame someone else.

743791 2009-02-01 07:39:00 Curious, isn't it? Only five of the posts have commented on where they will be and what they will do.:illogical

I was just interested if you would be having a nice long weekend or not. Much more fun than making a storm in a teacup.:D

743793 2009-02-01 08:32:00 Wonder how the maoris catch a Haast eagle? We know they did because they found a bone from one on the Wairau Bar a few weeks ago. prefect (6291)
