| 743722 | 2009-02-01 06:18:00 | More then a few people die everyday. Don't believe the hype. A heat wave is a prolonged period of excessively hot weather, which may be accompanied by high humidity. Severe heat waves have caused catastrophic crop failures, thousands of deaths from hyperthermia, and widespread power outages due to increased use of air conditioning. And yes it does tend to be the elderly that die. My mother is elderly and it does affect her. She gets faint and can't move around much. Doesn't happen when its cooler. |

You cant tell me the old cusors cant drink water (not Gin) and sit down in front of a $20 Warehouse (Walmart for Joe) fan and chill out without dying and blaming the weather. |

Are you kidding or something - not as hot as the other day, but we got all the windows in the house open, even still got the cooling fan running in the workshop - going outside shortly to fire up the BBQ - with a nice cool box of tui :drool and I'm running around in shorts and jandals (not a pretty site) :lol: |
