846552 2010-01-07 06:51:00 Interesting,

I too have a couple of unknown devices on a desktop.

Not that I'm worried as everything works.

846553 2010-01-07 06:54:00 I usually update through windowsupdate in Win7. The ACPI/ATK entry or something. I left the audio Win7 installed, its better than the realtek and the crap ASUS driver. All I had to install was the LAN driver (well didnt have to), it was installed. Update the chpset driver, and install the video drivers Speedy Gonzales (78)
846554 2010-01-07 07:06:00 I might add that in WinXP 64 bit I had the same but not in WinXP 32 bit.

An Asus motherboard A8N-SLI premium.

846555 2010-01-07 07:45:00 There don't appear to be any Quick-launch button drivers for 64bit Win7
But there are for the Vista 64 bit, maybe they'll work?

846558 2010-01-07 08:38:00 i installed the touchbutton one but no luck. turning the wireless button off makes it turn orange, turning it on makes it go blue so that works, but the button to mute doesnt go orange but the mute icon shows in the taskbar:stare:

i installed the W7 ENE CIR file and that ! mark is gone from device manager. but the other one (HPQ004) remains

i'll look at tomorrow.

:thanks for the help so far

846559 2010-01-07 08:53:00 Weirdness with the mute button!

this link might be worth a read, seems that your mystery item might be the ProtectSmart Hard Drive Protection.
