Just redone this site and published today - previous version of the site written using frames (!!).

I still have to tidy up the PHP code in the forms, customise the metatags and get some content for the Gallery and the Appointments page....

743583 2009-01-31 07:36:00 Needs a picture across the top to force the bulk of the content below the initial viewable area. Metla (12)

743585 2009-01-31 07:49:00 Looks good! :thumbs:

Do you think it is vital to open the "Forums" link in a new tab / window?

I would prefer the dash in front of the various clubs be replaced with something prettier.

Cheers :)

743586 2009-01-31 07:53:00 I found it a bit text-heavy - maybe have graphics instead of the ************ jwil1 (65)
743587 2009-01-31 07:55:00 Technically, the Forum is not hosted by the website host, so I decided (executive decision) to make a rule that any link to an external site would open in a new tab...

I agree - the hyphen is pretty plain. Need some suggestions...

Like a few wee images of whistles or something?

743589 2009-01-31 08:01:00 Ok, you asked for opinions, so here goes:

Small horizontal scroll at 1024x768 (nearly 50% current screens use this @ Jan 08)

Homepage: No page summary of who you are or what this site contains.

Headlines and nav links: Should be left hand aligned, not centred for easier skim reading and on screen readers

Links should be more clearer about the content they link to, these also act as keywords, so for example:
Clubs --> Club details
Skills --> Referee vocubulary lists
Appointments --> say what sort

Credibility - who owns this site or maintains it, how "official" are they etc. This could be covered by the home page summary.

Hmm ... that's it off the top of my head. :p

Edit: Ok, I hadn't finished after all ...

The news items are good on the homepage as they show the website is current. Adding more specific dates instead of "recently" also gives the reader an idea of how fresh the page is. :)

743590 2009-01-31 08:10:00 I don't see a single rugby ball anywhere on the website :p

Cheers :)
