| 846356 | 2010-01-06 06:59:00 | Hi, I have installed Win7 and have tried to install Thunderbird but have screwed up somewhat and need help with the account settings. My server is xtra but nothing seems to work except for a message informing me that my connection to serve rxtra.co.nz has timed out. Not sure where the pop3 and smtp should go. Thanks |

| 846357 | 2010-01-06 07:40:00 | I think one mistake was clicking on IMAP instead of pop , even though I uninstall the program I cant get back to that option point when reinstalling, it bypasses and brings up the inbox etc so its obviously is not uninstalling completely ?? | jarob (7088) | ||
| 846358 | 2010-01-06 07:46:00 | I had the same prob, it kept saying the smtp settings were wrong. It took me 20 mins - 1/2 hr for it to work. In the end, I biffed it | Speedy Gonzales (78) | ||

Go through the setup & if you clear the use global inbox checkbox, thunderbird will create all the folders in the account you just created. That way if you have more than one email account you can have separate inboxes for each account | Phil B (648) | ||
| 846360 | 2010-01-06 08:25:00 | OK. Can thunderbird import my Outlook pst file? And if I wish to keep emails and reuse Outlook can I export from thunderbird back to Outlook 2007? |

I go to Control Panel then Uninstall Programs, , find Thunderbird, uninstall okay but when I go back to the net to download and install it again it doesnt go through the complete installation sequence as it did originally . To be specific it downloads the exe file to the desk top On the set up it asks standard or manual, (standard) Says will install in program files (ok) Next frame says its installed Launch Now? If I click on that it comes up with the full email page inbox etc. etc. No option to change any settings?? I have gone to Search Programs and Files to make sure that nothing is left relating to Thunderbird after uninstalling |

| 846362 | 2010-01-06 09:42:00 | C:\users\your_user_name\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbir d C:\users\your_user_name\AppData\Local\Thunderbird are 2 things you should delete when reinstalling, this should put you back to square one I think. these will be hidden files in your user folder. |
