745625 2009-02-07 08:02:00 Hi all,
Just wondering if such a thing exists? Can you enter details including price range, keywords etc. on any site/software program and have it automatically email/notify you when an item comes available that you might be interested in bidding on?

Just wondering... would save time...

745626 2009-02-07 08:06:00 Just found this in the terms and conditions which answers my own question:

You may not use a robot, spider, scraper or other automated means to access the Website or information featured on it for any purpose.

Seems a pity. I guess they are just trying to conserve bandwidth? Otherwise I could only imagine such methods would increase sales...

745627 2009-02-07 09:17:00 Why not save your search as a favourite and have TradeMe email you with any new listings? Jen (38)
745628 2009-02-07 09:19:00 Not worth re-inventing the wheel. Just use the "my favourites" search facility on Trademe and it will email you accordingly. juicytree (4858)
745629 2009-02-07 09:20:00 Just use the "Favourites" search built into the TM site. It will do everything you want except filter prices, and will email you when any items matching your keyword(s) are listed. I have about 15 permanent searches running for obscure electronic items I am interested in and every now and then I get an email to say one is up for sale.

Why look elsewhere for a solution?

Cheers

I see two others offered the same advice while I was posting.

745630 2009-02-07 19:11:00 Thanks all. Damn, after all these years of using trademe I thought I knew most tools it had but never knew it had this facility. Perhaps if they had called the link: "my auto-notifications" or "my auto searches" or something else instead of "my favourites" I would have clicked it years ago...

Thanks again for the info :thanks
