745463 2009-02-06 05:27:00 I had a problem recently and I replaced all the aerial cables from the wall to the TV/Freeviewtuner/HDD recorder. They were all old ones that had come wit old TV/early Sky stuff etc. I had a fuzzy crappy picture on UHF in two rooms.

Now, the difference... stunning picture in both rooms! I had the new leads made up to length required at our local sparky in Taradale. (Kyle Symons if you live around here.) All crimped connections with best quality cable and about half the cost of buying from DSE.

Saw this problem and the answer on dtvforum.co.nz

745464 2009-02-06 06:00:00 prime is always crap especially if you are a fair bit away from sugaloaf or the aerial tower the catch is its not on freeveiw and the only other way is move closer, hook up a decent arieal or use (expensive) sky. williamF (115)
745465 2009-02-06 06:28:00 The only problem with Prime in most place is its on Channel 59 or 61 at the high end of the UHF band. This means more signal loss when you have long cables. Swapping out your older Coax cable to decent RG6g quad shielded can make a huge difference.

The other problem is a lot of older UHF antennas have very little signal gain on the higher channels.

745466 2009-02-06 06:39:00 Also UHF is line of sight, well more so than VHF, replace cable like apsattv suggested and your uhf aerial if it's old, if your not up to this call a TV aerial man, and get him to access it for you. radium (8645)
745467 2009-02-07 13:13:00 I found the VCR tunes into Prime far better than the television GoodHour (12218)
