744843 2009-02-04 09:42:00 They're popular in Europe, seem to be pretty good. I wouldn't touch it cause it's french.

Really think you'd be better off with a Swift, Jazz or Vitz but whatever. :p Parts for Jap cars are always going to be cheaper and than European cars, but availability shouldn't be an issue for a few years yet. Far better reliability too.


Some models have the EJ7 engine up til 2001, if possible you want the K4J because it's 16 valve rather than 8, the 8 valve is a bit underpowered (74 hp vs 97 hp). They are still using the K4J now.

Though as the owner of an Italian car, I have to say that they are not much better than the French.

Agreed.

But the design is (by and large) spunky as hell, and their engines are as good as any.

I'd happily run Renault, and I'd bring the Japs over to show them how to nail them together, then make billions selling them everywhere!

1
