| 847581 | 2010-01-10 10:53:00 | I really need to clean the vent on my laptop because it has overheated once or twice. I considered using a can of compressed air to blow into the vents but wouldn't that just shift the dust to another part of the computer rather than actually remove the dust? I would love to take it apart but it has a 3 year warrenty (came for free so I said yes) and I don't really want to void that! So I was wondering whether or not it would be ok to just run the vacum cleaner along the bottom of the laptop and over the vents to suck the dust out? Would this be ok or will I break something?!? |

| 847586 | 2010-01-11 04:58:00 | Vacuum probably won't do much unless it's very powerful, compressed air will shift dust much better but then like you say it's hard to get out. If you can blow compressed air in one side and suck it out the other side with the vacuum you might get somewhere. But the best way of doing it is to take it apart and clean it properly. Unfortunately the warranty prevents this! |
