| 847460 | 2010-01-10 01:55:00 | This is for argument sake. It an old laptop now converted to a PC. 2000. The hinge has cracked, have taken it apart. Are these repairable / replaceable? The screen doesn't stay up at all. |

Try to find a disassembly guide if you want to know what exactly you need to replace and don't know already If the manufacturer is kind enough to give you one you might be in luck and easily find it. Otherwise search Google. I have looked up the manuals for 2 different IBM laptops and they both had highly comprehensive disassembly manuals available in PDF on IBM's website. For Thinkpad 380ED and something else. What is actually broken? it might be possible to fix it too. But you haven't given much information. |

| 847463 | 2010-01-10 02:18:00 | Thinkpad X20. The hinge I think only one is a real one, that is shattered. Once the plastic cover was taken off. Parts of the metal thing crumbles out. Well I guess, anything is replaceable if you have another one. But let's say, ordinary Joe and Jane who goes to the repair shop? |

| 847466 | 2010-01-10 07:19:00 | Cost me $48 for a new set of genuine ones from Compaq. Can't remember the model number but they seemed readily available. |
