Think about it, alcohol (cheap booze) is made by distilling, (as is petrol in refineries??)

I never thought plants were that fussy thou,
I pay extra to have alcohol contaminants

744290 2009-02-03 04:02:00 Most plants need NPK to grow.
In other words fertiliser. Your Venus Fly Trap may get all the minerals it needs from passing or entrapment of flys and maybe not.

Hopefully you may note that the Venus plant will also munch on spiders which also would reduce the fly population.

Are you at Massey and are we doing your homework?

Ah no.Not homework.I don't study horticulture

I've applied a few places couldn't find a job so decided to grow a plant and thought I would grew one of these since there's so many flies.

Whats NPK?

744291 2009-02-03 04:05:00 I've tried

two pharmacies, Countdown,Warehouse and they all don't have distilled water.

Why is it so hard to find?
All I see is mineral water,herbal water and spring water.

Whats NPK?

N = Nitrogen
P = Potassium
K = Sodium

That is what it stood for when I went to school and I note it has not changed yet.

Waits for someone to wonder why K = Sodium.

744293 2009-02-03 04:17:00 i think my science teacher didn't know the answer to that either

Why K = sodium

744294 2009-02-03 04:18:00 NPK : Nitrogen, Phosphorus and Potassium. joemac (9739)
744295 2009-02-03 04:23:00 Oh yeah.Sodium is NA Ninjabear (2948)
744296 2009-02-03 04:30:00 Sodium used to be called Natrium hence the N = Sodium.

Common salt is NaCl = Sodium Chloride.

Last exam I sat at school I had 95% for chemistry and only 39% for maths. I might add I still learn today.

If you are in Palmerston North Woolworths have Pure Dew in 3l and 10l containers. Check their online shopping to see what it looks like, I'd be surprised if Countdown didn't have that brand.
