744809 2009-02-04 17:07:00 THe last time we had a Kirby salesman in our house, the vacuum created that much dust in the air I had to leave the house as it affected my asthma badly Myth (110)
744810 2009-02-04 17:50:00 X2 for Nilfisk, our bagless one is great on cat hair, SWMBO has cats so speak from experience gary67 (56)
744811 2009-02-04 19:55:00 Our Dyson is beginning to fade after 7 years need to replace

Another Dyson.
ANd have you taken all its filters out and washed them? There are at least 2 - sometimes 3.
Thats usually why they stop sucking properly.

744812 2009-02-04 23:30:00 Yep, I'll go along with the Dyson call.. My Avatar seems to have been put on earth to spread dog hair anytime, anyhow, anywhere.

Having had 3 of the beautiful, but hair dropping beggars over the last 30 years, the only cleaner that will pick up all of it is the Dyson. Tried Nilfisk, Electrolux and a couple of other brands before the Dyson. Must say, I haven't tried Miele yet.

744813 2009-02-05 00:46:00 It amazes me that so many men know so much about vacuum cleaners. plod (107)
744814 2009-02-05 01:33:00 Knowing about the mechanics of the machine is different to knowing how to use one.... :D johcar (6283)
744815 2009-02-05 04:33:00 Hi Guys

Thanks for the replies bought a Miele S5211 today from HN at Mt Maunganui seems pretty good value so will try it. Must admit the build quality of the Dyson wasn't that good really it was falling apart, not that old really 7 years!

So mark this one as resolved!
