Don't use a metal bowl though. :) It certainly used to be, but these days, with all the pollution in the air, that may not be the case, although I would imagine that it is purer than the reticulated water of most towns. It is water that has its minerals taken out. Pure water free of chemicals. Pure water it certainly is - free of chemicals it is not. Water is made up of two chemicals, hydrogen and oxygen. Nothing on this earth is chemical free. |

| 744280 | 2009-02-03 00:15:00 | I have one of those springflow distillers so make distilled water all the time. Mostly for my coffee machine since I couldn't be arsed putting in a filter system This is close enough, and means no calcuim deposits. They used to sell for about $300 so if planning on needing a bit not a bad investiment. Unlike mineral water, which to some people can taste "muddy" distilled pretty much has no taste. But is good clean water, great for drinking, or in jugs, coffee machines or cooking. |

| 744283 | 2009-02-03 01:45:00 | The problem is there's been any hardly rain during the summer times. I think i wrote the previous thread wrong The water that is boiled is not distilled water. The steam that rises up from the boiled water are distilled water. |

Your Venus Fly Trap may get all the minerals it needs from passing or entrapment of flys and maybe not. Hopefully you may note that the Venus plant will also munch on spiders which also would reduce the fly population. Are you at Massey and are we doing your homework? |

| 744286 | 2009-02-03 02:21:00 | Or you could distill your own, with a flask and liebig type condenser or buy a Spring Flow water distiller from Mitre 10 Otherwise the best bet is what Paul said Pure Dew. |
