744858 2009-02-04 09:35:00 Yes, but I had the beta installed as well so not much of a difference. beeswax34 (63)
744859 2009-02-04 20:06:00 But is it an improvement on v3.8? Full-screen videophone feature aside.... johcar (6283)
744860 2009-02-04 20:29:00 Hmm, I like it. wratterus (105)
744861 2009-02-04 21:44:00 Whats new ? :D

I have 3.8, but is there anything worthwhile to make me download the new version?

744862 2009-02-04 21:50:00 Ummm. :p

It looks nicer. And it's a bit faster. And the interface is layed out nicer than previous versions (imo).

Also on the Skype website they said the quality of the audio/video should be better. Spose they've been working the type of media compression they use or something. Havn't tested that yet. :p

744864 2009-02-05 01:00:00 I don't want any software near my PC which is affiliated with Kazaa Agent_24 (57)
744865 2009-02-05 01:44:00 AFAIK they use the iLBC codec for audio? Chilling_Silence (9)
744866 2009-02-05 02:33:00 I updated and I’m quite happy. Lost Video after update but found it had latched onto my Hauppauge TV Card, instead of my Camera, but that wasn’t hard to fix.

However, did notice the brother-in-laws audio from Australia is very “PoPy”

I tried the test/playback audio function from my end and it was perfect, so I wonder if he has a problem at his end?

I’ll wait until other friends come on line and see what they sound like.

I must say Skype has come along way since I installed it and then ditched it years ago.

Seems to have caught on too because every time I go on there’s between 12 and 14 Million already there.
