| 746352 | 2009-02-09 22:04:00 | OK I run my own business (a partnership) and i take money out of this as drawings, now as the business is failing miserably, i have a second job where i am employed as casual staff now for this job i have listed my tax thingie as Secondary which i thought was correct, however someone I talked to told me that as my other source of income is drawings from a business, I should be paying General? rather than secondary tax on my earnings from the second job. any idea if they are correct? as I thought i was doing it correctly, and i would prefer to pay less tax. |

They should be able to give you a definitive answer until the tax rates change. In my case I receive NZ Super but I also from time to time work driving a truck. I deliberately do not work too many hours as I would probably receive a tax demand from the IRD in the event I crossed an income threshold. |
