848329 2010-01-13 09:21:00 Hi all

I work in a small office with various lan points throughout the room however there isn't enough of them. Most faceplates have two points but some are taken up by the telephone system as well.

The server room is downstairs and cabling probably isn't an option.

Can you still get a cable splitter that uses the other 1/2 of the cable? Obviosly we'd need one on the server rack and a 2nd at the jack or would we be better to use say a 4 port hub on the wall and feed the two printers that way?

848330 2010-01-13 09:32:00 Throw in a switch of one of the existing Ethernet connections, then as long as the printer is network capable it can be installed/connected to any of the LAN PC's. Thats basically how I have my two printers, 1 connection from an existing switch to another 4 port switch feeding two network Lasers - one black, the other color. (1 spare port left) wainuitech (129)

The printer has USB and Lan so that's why we picked that one as it needed to be available to all users.

Just got to get it near my desk so I can save myself 6.8m of walking backwards and forwards ;-)
